First Ever Accountability Update (03-01-10)
Posted on 03. Jan, 2010 by Aaron in Accountability
Well here goes, just to show everyone that I’m starting pretty much from scratch I’m going to announce my earnings so far.
Total Ad Spend – $26.28
Total Ad Revenue – $9.60
Total Profit – $17.08 loss
Don’t really think there’s the need for screenshots or more proof of earnings as who’d want to show off to the world that they’re making a loss. But this was to show my first ever paid traffic campaign launched on Facebook back in mid December 2009, actually found this to be a completely different beast to PPC for bricks and mortar businesses with an established brand or building mailing lists for businesses with PPC which I’ve had success with for a few years.
I wanted to do weekly updates but didn’t have this site running at the time so thought it’d be pretty cool to start everything from the beginning of 2010 and do a weekly update every Sunday, not only for myself to look back over my progress but for those of you out there who’re wondering how much work it actually does take to start making money online.
If you’re looking for more financial details there’ll be very few from now on but I will be keeping track on the hours spent working each week. I really don’t want to advertise how much I earn too much.
This is broken down via a few goals, first of which was to actually take action in December and just work through some of the tutorials at Affiliit.com . This worked out pretty well but I didn’t account for the impact of the Christmas holidays and getting a bad dose of the flu which left me in bed for the last 3-4 days with this being the first day back in action so to speak.
I’m probably taking a more patient route to most others as anything I earn I want to clear some debts first, then once they’re dealt with push the earnings into an account ready for any ads that need scaling up rather than spending it straight away, saying that I really can’t say I’ll be able to hold back with the credit card if I find a campaign that’s a winner but for the first 6 months I’d rather keep a tight reign on my finances and learn the ropes so to speak.
So anyhow back to this week:
Hours worked – 4hrs
Activities – Writing articles for IM Extras and running some niche research.
Summary – Not mincing my words but I felt this was piss poor seeing as I’ve not been at work all week, really don’t know why but I think my mind just went into holiday mode and that was that, then towards the end of the week I managed to get a bad dose of flu, all in all a really disappointing week.
